Electrodermal Activity
The Pip lets you see your body’s response to stress by measuring Electrodermal Activity (EDA) – changes in the skin’s ability to conduct an electrical current. When we’re faced with a stressful situation, our body’s “fight or flight” response is activated. This triggers a variety of physiological changes, including sweat gland activity at the surface of the skin. The Pip uses EDA to accurately determine whether you are stressing or relaxing.
Connecting Science and Emotion
By visualising your changing stress levels, you can try different techniques to control it. This is called biofeedback, which is an effective technique for managing stress. It helps us learn to control our body and it’s natural responses by becoming more aware of the continuous, subtle changes in our stress levels.
Custom built companion apps
The Pip and its apps are like your personal stress coach: by providing real-time feedback on your changing stress levels, you can adapt your behaviour to achieve better performance. The Pip lets you know if the technique you are using to calm and focus yourself is effective, enabling you to make changes and improve it.
Precision Engineering & Development
The Pip combines precision engineered gold plated sensors, proprietary algorithms and patented signal processing technology. All of this technology combined allows the Pip to measure changes in your “EDA” eight times per second. The Pip has been developed in conjunction with leading stress experts and is currently being used by therapists, psychologists and sports coaches across the world.
